Amazing Facts about the Earth | Scientific Facts

HELLO! Welcome to this blog!👇

Do you know the interesting facts about our planet? 🌍 Earth is the third planet from the Sun. Earth was formed approx. 4.5 billion years ago and it is the only planet who is known to support life.

In today's article I'll share some interesting facts about our planet that can amaze you.

Okay! Let's start,

Amazing Facts about the Earth -

365 Days in a year? Actually not :

A year on Earth is actually 365.2564 days. This .2564 days create the need for leap years. If we multiply .2564 with 4 then we have 1.02, means a full day. That's the reason of leap year in every 4 years.

Our planet has uneven gravity :

As we know that our planet isn't a perfect sphere so it's distributed unevenly everywhere. Hudson Bay of Canada has lower gravity than other regions. From a research report, since gravity over an area is proportional to the mass top that region, the glacier's imprint pushed aside some of the Earth's mass, gravity is a bit less strong.

The Earth's rotation is decreasing :

The deceleration is happening approx. 17 milliseconds per hundred years, although the rate is not perfectly uniform. The rate of decreasing the time is really slow so that we can differentiate. It could be 140 million years back the length of the day will have increased to 25 hours.

Planet is recycled :

Crustal recycling is a tectonic process by which surface material from the lithosphere is recycled into mantle. Earth's rock cycle transforms igneous rocks to sedimentary rocks to metamorphic rocks and again back to the first. Although the cycle is not very perfect.

The Earth is electric :

Our planet is like a magnetic ball which attracts everything to the center. Thunder storms acts as a giant batter in atmosphere.Thunder and lightning reveals the Earth's fiercer side. From researches, a single stroke of lightning can heat the air to around 54000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Our planet may have second Moon :

Moons are common in solar system. A Moon is a natural satellite caught in planet's orbit. Scientists claim that the Earth has two moons now. According to astronomers, not a clear object but most likely an asteroid that was pulled by Earth's gravity while flying close to the planet.
